This beginning workshop is for artists of all levels and
is an introduction to the fascinating techniques of mural
painting. Starting with simple lessons in mural design and
layout, you will learn the basics of line and perspective,
which lead to an understanding of light and shadow. We progress
to using value and contrast to create illusion and dimension.
You will complete a 3x4 foot mural canvas that can later
be mounted on a wall.
You will create a series of sample boards while learning
techniques including sky, water and background landscapes.
We will cover architectural elements such as stone, carved
medallions and balustrade. We will finish with the foreground
components that bring your mural together with subjects,
including foliage, still life objects and whimsical features.
This workshop promises an exciting learning experience for
everyone. Wall Glazing I is highly recommended as a prerequisite.
